At this time, the entire world is in the grip of deadly coronavirus outbreak. Thailand is also a country which has witnessed more than thousand positive cases of coronavirus and several deaths due to it.
Amidst such tensed situation, news about the King of Thailand has grabbed the attention of international Media.
Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn has moved into isolation in a luxurious hotel in Germany. Well, the Thai King has not gone into isolation all alone, rather he is accompanied by 20 other women.
Interestingly, Germany too has been badly affected by coronavirus but the Thai King has managed to get the permission for having isolation in the luxurious Hotel Sonnenbichl located in an Alpine resort town.
It is said that 67 year old Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn initially wanted to have an entourage comprising 140 member for isolation. However, 119 members were asked to return by German authorities citing the risk for contracting the virus and its further spread.
News about Thai King’s isolation was not well-received by the Thai people who themselves are fighting against coronavirus situation. The public outrage in Thailand against Kings Action was so intense that #Why Do We Need A King? had started trending on Twitter.

It has been reported that the King has not made any public appearance in the country since February 2020, the time when the coronavirus started spreading outside mainland China.
Thailand follows a Parliamentary Constitutional Monarchy form of Government and the King still holds a place of prominence in national politics. Maha Vajiralongkorn has been the King of Thailand since 2016.
