Growing old is a reality of life. For most people, old age comes along with several problems, mainly related to health which increases your dependency for care, support and protection from others. However, there are some old people, for whom the age is just a number.
One such old man has been spotted in Cardiff, United Kingdom. The Police Department recently shared a video clip (captured through a CCTV camera) in which an Old Man who was attacked by a robber at an ATM, fought back and drove the robber away without giving him anything.
In the video it can be seen that an old man parked his car in the parking slot in front of an ATM and then came out to do the transaction. When the old man was returning to his car after completing the transaction, a young person wearing a face mask appeared and grabbed the old man’s neck and pushed him to the wall. Apparently, he would have been demanding the old man for cash or the card. But to his surprise, the old man did not concede to his demands and rather pushed back. He distanced himself from the robber and took the conventional boxing pose, indicating that he was ready to fight and defend himself. He even managed to land a punch on the robber’s face. On realising that he has selected a wrong and ‘not so easy target’ the robber ran away from the spot without having anything.
The Police Department has launched an inquiry in to this and is on the lookout for the robber. Soon after the video was shared on the social media, it went viral and evoked positive response from users. Social Media users appreciated the Old Man’s courage to stand up for himself and fight away the robber who seemed like a young guy.
