Every segment of the population, whether rich or poor, old or young, has paid the price for the lockdown. Most severely affected have been the migrant labourers who were residing in an urban centre, away from native place and were working on daily wages in a factory, construction site and were engaged in miscellaneous physical labour jobs.
With factories and construction activities coming to a halt, these labourers were deprived of the daily income on which they use to depend for survival. With no income and no accommodation, these labourers had no option but to go back to their native place where they had their support system.
But with transportation sector also being shut, they had only two options – stay where they are or go to their native place by foot.
Government was aware about their problem and was also wary about the risk of these labourers being infected by coronavirus. Thus at various locations, temporary quarantine centres were set up and places such as schools were used for the same.
The migrant labourers who could not reach their destinations were given accommodation in these temporary quarantine centres and were taken care of.
One such group of 54 migrant labourers (primarily belonging to interior parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh) were quarantined in two schools in Sikar district of Rajasthan. This group of labourers were taken very good care of and so they wanted to do something in return. They decided to paint the walls of these schools, so as to make them colourful and give it a makeover.
The requisite material for painting was provided to them by the teachers of the schools who bought it by pooling funds from their salaries.

The entire village was overwhelmed by such gesture by the labourers, who did not charge any money for their task as it was their way of saying thank you for the care offered.

Another noteworthy thing is all the people from this group are healthy and their quarantine period has also come to an end.
