This incident is related to Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. She worked with Hrithik Roshan in the film ‘Guzaarish’. The film was made in the year 2010 under the direction of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Interestingly, Salman Khan wanted to work in this film.
Actually, Aishwarya and Salman worked together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’.
After this film, Salman Khan fell in love with Aishwarya Rai and it is said that he wanted to do every film with Aishwarya Rai.
Due to this, Salman also wanted to be in the lead role with Aishwarya in the film Guzaarish.
Hrithik Roshan was cast in place of Salman Khan in Guzaarish
Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rai broke up with Salman and swore that she would never work with Salman again. However, despite the breakup, film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali remained friends with both. But Salman Khan was angry and upset with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali for casting Hrithik Roshan instead of him in the film Guzaarish.
After this, Salman also talked negatively about this film openly and the hostility between Salman and Bhansali started growing. Salman believed that Bhansali did not cast him in the film at the behest of Aishwarya Rai.
Actually, it is said that it was Salman Khan who inspired Sanjay Leela Bhansali to make the film Guzaarish. Once he had given a DVD of the Hollywood film ‘The Prestige’ to Bhansali. Bhansali was impressed by this film and got the idea to make Guzaarish.
Salman made fun of the film
When Salman came to know that Bhansali was going to make the movie Guzaarish, he wanted to work with his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai in the film. While Bhansali did not cast Salman, he lost his cool completely. This is the reason that Salman Khan, while interacting with the media at an event, made a lot of fun of the film Guzaarish, passed nasty remarks on it and lashed out at director Bhansali as well.
In an event, talking about Sanjay Leela Bhansali, he said, “Jaake usko milo. Woh tumhare pe picture bana dega, khud khoob kamayega, lekin tumko kuch nahin dega,” (Go and meet him, he will make a film on you. He will make a lot of money for himself but won’t pay you a dime).
In that event when someone asked Salman about his views on movie ‘Guzaarish’, he said, “Arre, usme toh makhi udd rahi thi, lekin koi machhar bhi nahi gaya dekhne. Arre, koi kutta bhi nahin gaya,”
Hrithik Roshan gave a befitting reply
Aishwarya had not given any reaction in this whole matter. However, in an interview with Times of India, Hrithik Roshan said, “I’ve always known Salman to be a good man, someone I’ve looked up to and admired and still do. He’s always been a hero and always will be. But yes, it’s not heroic to laugh or make fun of a filmmaker just because his box office collections are not up there with yours.”
He added, “I will be hurt if anyone talks like this about Mr Bhansali (Sanjay Leela Bhansali, director of Guzaarish). In my opinion a hero never gloats. When you are super successful, it should in fact make you more gracious and loving.”
