Nepotism has become a very hot topic of discussion in Bollywood in recent times. Many big stars have defended it while there have been some who have opposed it. Whether the audience likes it or not, nepotism is a real thing in Bollywood, which is testified by the fact that every now and then children of popular stars are launched by big production houses.
But at the end of the day, what matters is the talent and acceptance by the audience. Hereby we have compiled a list of such star kids/kids belonging to families that are associated with Bollywood, who did not attain the desired success despite of being backed by their parents’ connections.
1) Arjun Kapoor
Despite of hailing from a filmy family, wherein his father Boney Kapoor is a filmmaker and uncle Anil Kapoor is a renowned actor, Arjun Kapoor has not yet achieved the commercial success which is required for an actor to be called an A-lister.
2) Zayed Khan
Son of Sanjay Khan and nephew of Feroze Khan, Zayed Khan appeared in several movies post his debut film ‘Chura Liya Hai Tumne’, but did not leave a mark on the audience mindset. His most successful film has been ‘Main Hoon Na’ and that too had Shah Rukh Khan in lead role.
3) Esha Deol
Esha Deol, the daughter of Hema Malini and Dharmendra, did not receive as much fame and appreciation like her parents. Although she appeared in several Bollywood films, she was never considered as a top Bollywood actress.
4) Uday Chopra
Despite of hailing from one of the most renowned families of Bollywood and having support of huge banner like Yash Raj Films, Uday Chopra did not see any commercial success on his own. Most of his films were of home production and had several other stars featuring alongside him.
5) Tanishaa Mukerji
Tanishaa is the daughter of filmmaker Shomu Mukerji and actress Tanuja. She did not attain as much fame as her mother Tanuja did in her times and did not even come closer in popularity to her sister Kajol, who is still considered one of the best Bollywood actresses.
6) Twinkle Khanna
When Twinkle Khanna (daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia), made her debut with the film ‘Barsaat’ in the year 1995, she was admired a lot and seemed to be a promising star in the making. But as her career proceeded, she seemed to be stuck with wrong choices of films and gradually slipped into oblivion.
7) Karan Deol
The latest name in this list is of Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol. Although he is just one film old, he was not able to draw audience attention by his performance in his debut film ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’, which was the home production of Deols.
