After the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the mud slinging in Bollywood over nepotism has increased a lot.
People associated with the industry itself are accusing each other. Everyday, there is a Twitter war between some or the other celebrities. Now the same thing has happened with actor Ranvir Shorey and director Anurag Kashyap.
Whom did Ranvir call a ‘Flunky’?
Recently, Kangana Ranaut had made many shocking revelations in the context of Sushant’s case. She also took a dig at Bollywood for its nepotism.
Now, actor Ranvir Shorey also tried to target this aspect of Bollywood by posting a tweet. Ranvir wrote in the tweet, “So many independent-film-crusaders have turned mainstream-bollywood-flunkies now. These are the same people who used to rant 24/7 about the “system” for attention before they were given entry into the pearly gates of mainstream Bollywood. #Hypocrisy much?”

Ranvir Shorey did not take any name in his tweet, but director Anurag Kashyap took it on him and thought that this tweet was targeted towards himself. He tweeted, “Do you really mean that Ranvir shorey. If you do please explain . Please say exactly what you mean and whose flunky is who?”

While responding to the question of Anurag, Ranvir clearly said that he does not want to do any mud slinging on anyone. He tweeted, “I always say what I mean, Anurag Kashyap, you know that. And I don’t think what I’ve said lacks any clarity. It pretty much explains everything. As for taking names, that’s beneath me. I’m not trying to sling mud, but just reminding people where they come from.”

Twitter war between Ranvir and Anurag
This debate did not end there. Anurag claimed in many tweets that he has given the most opportunities to outsiders. At the same time, he accused Ranvir of misleading people, even changing the narrative. This Twitter war went viral on social media.
So let’s talk . Right here. Whose flunky you think I am ? Dont mix the pain of your past relationship with this debate. I will say everything here .. the correction is needed in this industry like every industry . I operate alone .. bolo .

And I will say this clearly – I am speaking here with you because I won’t allow you or anyone to distract or change the narrative of how the industry is being used. I won’t allow you to change or create the perception about me and make

It was a minor misunderstanding
However, after all this, when Ranvir was asked about it, he termed all of this as a minor misunderstanding. “Anurag is a friend of mine,” the actor told The Times of India. “It was a minor misunderstanding we had that got a lot of attention because it was on a public platform, that is also very high on drama. I was actually referring to a number of bloggers, journalists, critics, actors and filmmakers, who made an identity for themselves as crusaders of independent cinema but are now trying to shut down someone who’s raising their voice against injustices in the mainstream system.”
There is no hope from this debate
Ranvir Shorey was asked whether these nepotism and insider-outsider debates would make any difference in Bollywood’s star culture and give more opportunities to other actors? In response, Ranvir stated that he sees no hope of bringing about any change.
The actor said that since childhood he has seen ‘the politics that drive this business’ very closely. Further he added that as a grown-up professional, he has himself borne the brunt of it. He said that he is an insider, who has been treated like an outsider.
Ranvir will be seen next in the movie ‘Lootcase’, which is going to be streamed on Disney+Hotstar.
Anurag recently released his new film, Choked, on Netflix.
