Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan recently visited the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple, located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
But local religious scholars and saints have raised objections to this visit by Sara. In fact, Sara Ali Khan was in the city to shoot for her upcoming movie ‘Atrangi Re’, during which she visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple and also participated in the ‘Ganga Aarti’ on 15th March 2020.
Her mother Amrita Singh was also present with her during the temple visit. Kashi Vikas Samiti has raised objections to this as Sara Ali Khan is a non-Hindu.
On this issue, Chandra Shekhar Kapoor, the general secretary of the committee said, “Sara’s visit to the temple is against traditions and established norms. It also raises questions on the safety of the temple, where there is a sign board which clearly states that the entry of ‘non-Hindus’ into the temple is prohibited.”
He said that some priests violated the norms in anticipation to get ‘good Dakshina.’ The Kashi Vikas Samiti has now demanded an inquiry into Sara’s temple visits and take action against the persons responsible for it.
It is to be noted that Sara Ali Khan also shared a video, in which she was seen walking on the streets of Varanasi and was giving general information about the place to her fans.
Sara Ali Khan was last seen in the remake of Movie ‘Love Aaj Kal’ opposite Kartik Aryan.
The movie did not perform as per expectations on the box office, but that did not affect Sara’s fan following. She will next be seen in ‘Atrangi Re’ which also has Akshay Kumar and Dhanush as lead cast.
In addition to this, Sara will also be seen opposite Varun Dhawan in ‘Coolie No. 1.’
