‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ is one of the most popular TV shows on the small screen. This TV serial has been entertaining audiences for a very long time.
It is the longest running show in the history of Indian TV. This TV serial has carved out a niche for itself in the list of famous comedy shows.
‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ entertains the audience through its unique star cast and storyline. Various characters like Dayaben, Jethalal, Dr. Hathi, Bhide, Tappu Sena members and others have become a household name through this TV show.
In the show, the character of ‘Tappu’ was played by child TV star Bhavya Gandhi. Bhavya Gandhi had gained a lot of fame in the show as ‘Tappu’. The fans liked Tappu and Tappu Sena very much. From this show itself, Bhavya started his career as a child artist.
Bhavya worked in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah from 2008 to 2017, i.e., for 9 years. However, later he took a break from this TV show. After that he was replaced by Raj Anadkat. Although Raj Anadkat has so far done justice to the role of ‘Tappu’, it cannot be denied that we still miss Bhavya Gandhi in the show.
After leaving Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Bhavya Gandhi talked about it. Bhavya said that his character of Tappu was being sidelined. There was no growth of his character in the show. Many times, Bhavya Gandhi even talked about this to the makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah but nothing worked. As a result, Bhavya decided to quit the show.
He said, “I just wanted to do something new and different, and that’s how the idea of taking a break from the show came to my mind. The major reason for me leaving the show was that I was not getting the kind of growth that a character ideally should get in a (popular) show.”
Very few people know that Bhavya Gandhi was once the highest paid child actor on Indian TV during that period. Bhavya Gandhi was paid a hefty fee for ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ show. According to several sources, he was paid a handsome amount of Rs. 10,000 per episode during that period which was quite a huge amount for a child star.
Coming to the present day scenario, each member of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Tappu Sena earns upto Rs. 20 thousand per episode.
Talking about other actors of the show, Dilip Joshi (Jethalal) makes a whopping Rs. 1.50 lakhs per episode.
As per the report in Dainik Bhaskar, Shailesh Lodha (Taarak Mehta) too is paid Rs. 1.50 lakhs per episode.
Mandar Chandwadkar (Bhide) gets Rs. 80 thousand per episode.
Amit Bhatt (Champaklal Gada) is paid around Rs. 70-80 thousand per episode.
Both Tanuj Mahashabde (Krishnan Iyer) and Gurucharan Singh (Roshan Singh Sodhi) are paid Rs. 65-80 thousand per episode.
