Popular TV show of yesteryears, Ramayan is back on the small screen once again. It is being broadcasted on television to provide entertainment to people of India during the 21 day lockdown on account of coronavirus outbreak.
When news came out that Ramayan would be re-telecasted on Doordarshan, Arun Govil, who played the role of Ram in the serial, said that this time he would watch the show with his grandson. It is to be noted that Arun Govil became a household name across India for playing this role and also received widespread appreciation.
Ramayan is now being telecasted on Doordarshan everyday at 9 am and 9 pm. A picture has gone viral on social media in which Arun Govil is seen watching Ramayana with his entire family. His whole family including his wife, son, daughter-in-law and grandson can be seen seated on a sofa and are watching Ramayan. This photo is being liked and shared on social media and many users have given their reaction on it.
Another video of actress Dipika Chikhlia, who played the role of Sita in the serial, has also gone viral. In the video, Dipika is standing in front of a large screen on which Ramayan is being telecasted and is giving a message to the masses that they should learn a lot from this epic serial.
It is to be noted that no sooner the 21 day lock down was announced, demand for re-telecast of Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan and B R Chopra’s Mahabharat was made by large number of people on social media. Prasar Bharti took notice of this and was swift enough to fulfill this demand.
